a perfect coda to what was an incredible narrative I was once a server at a restaurant - for 6ish weeks. It was fun but I was probably the worst server that restaurant has ever had. It’s a nice restaurant and I had no experience. I have no idea why they hired me. I was absolutely terrible and am not fit for sales or the service industry in general.

My favorite job (aside from the one I have now maybe but I don't quite know) involved assigning aircraft and scheduling crews for a fractional jet operator.
Man, pilots are touchy about their schedules.
I had a European pilot tell me once that the collective for pilots is a "whine of pilots". The problem was we'd have deadhead legs unavoidably so all the pilot and copilot had to do was play snakes on their Nokia phones and bitch about how the company was screwing them.

The military was the best and worst job I ever had depending. Sometimes I'd go months at a time spending 20 minutes at work per day and other times I'd work my arse off and/or spend long periods sucking shite in some crap location.

Copy machine repair for local business when I was about 22. Drive around town all day to different offices and banks. Older women always liked attention from a younger guy. Would have stayed longer, but when paycheck bounced I looked elsewhere!!

Tour guide. Hiking, walking, bus, etc.
Went back to college to get my teaching cert and worked for a small ship cruise line May-Sept. Really awesome people to work with, great company and the most fun you can have while getting paid. Tips were incredible.
Perks included getting free trips with our vendors. Helicopter flights, meals, etc. Also did some escorted group tours which were fun as hell. Usually 3-5 days in different parts of the State.

I worked at a Video Warehouse when I was 15-16.
The only real work that had to be done was checking movies out to people, checking them back in, and putting them back on the shelf.
We also had a separate room in the back with a locked door for XXX rentals. We called it “The Booty Room”. Seeing someone rent some niche porn always cracked me up.
I had free rein to all the new movies/games that came out before anyone else which was cool as a high schooler.
Life was a lot simpler back then. I can’t be the only one that misses video rental stores. I definitely appreciate the ease of streaming, but there was something about driving to the store and going inside just hoping that they still had at least one copy left of whatever you were hoping to rent.

I get paid to paint naked people, so my current job doesn’t suck by any means, but I worked at a snoball stand in high school and as a beer cart girl on a golf course, both of those were pretty fun.
