People here don't understand the difference between average and ability IMO

Starting this weekend. The age of Nitro is gone baws.

The age of nerds, and shot placement is here.

I agree 100%.

But you call EVERYONE out on it like it's impossible.

By your standard Nobody on the OT can come close to those distances, when in actuality it's very realistic for a relatively ok number of us to be able to.

Yes. But let's not start too much jargon.

It slows down the site and makes people scratch their peepees.

I don't call everyone out.

My issue is it's not an ok number IMO. Sorry to rain on people's fantasy distance beliefs.

ETA: I'm talking about averaging it. Not miraculously once crushing it a particular distance.

My distance is real, and it's spectacular.

Normally Id agree with you but the answers here are pretty standard. Hitting a 7 165 is pretty standard.

If everyone was saying 9 youd be right. Looks like you just wanted to post that you played college golf. Nothing wrong with that. Congrats

Get over it man. I suck at golf and I know that. But I hit a 4 or 5 iron on the hole every time I play and it plays between 200-210. Come play with me tomorrow. Dogfight starts at 12:30

Its hard to say what my "average" club distance is because I vary my shots depending on conditions, lie, and the strategy of the hole.

8iron on hole #1 could be a lot different than 8iron on hole #13.

I guess when you're actually a long hitter, it seems easy so therefore you feel that more people can do likewise.

When you're short it feels harder, and it seems that less people can hit longer likewise.

I have trouble understanding when other people don't hit the same distances as me, especially when I watch them swing and feel like their swing speeds are similar to mine. Plus most of the time they are a lot bigger than me

Given what you wrote after this quote, I'll take that as sarcasm. Below is a screenshot I took on my phone back in January from a lesson. Even with the lesson, hitting it inconsistently, I averaged 161 with a 7 iron. All these shots on this screen shot are 7 irons.

I've played numerous rounds with former LSU golfers.

Only one of them outdistanced me on average. But 90% of the time they beat me.

It has more to do with people claiming to average a pro level number. Some people can legit claim that.

There's no point in going on with this. People can claim whatever they want as their average. It's amazing most people I get paired up with are always having an off day.

Exactly.
When you bomb 3hundo on the reg, and come here to see computer nerds throwing a hissy fit, and invite them to play, they always have yard work, or some kind of cousin visiting from out of town.

I get it. You don't want to be embarrassed. But saying people here can't hit an 8 iron 160 yds is dumb.

I know a guy that hits a 58° 160 yds. Please.
