My buddy slept next to a homeless guy by a dumpster during Mardi Gras. He has no idea how he didn't get robbed or stabbed.

Calling no one a liar
Trying to remember when it was ever cold enough in Nola for someone to freeze to death

Well obviously he didn't freeze to death. But 40s and windy is cold as frick
And with no shoes and sleeping on cold concrete I'd imagine you'd feel like you were freezing to death
Plus there's this wind effect in buildings where the wind intensifies

in a janitors closet. My daughter was in ICU on the ventilator in a Dallas children's hospital. No beds in her area. I had to find what I could. The janitor came knocking at 5:30am (3 hours after I bedded down)

It was 16 in 1962, based off the details I'm guessing the time frame was not recent.

I'll take my chances with a few thugs in sub-artic temps anyday over being run over by a train.
The dude bleeding outta every orffice probably lived to see another day. If he been hit by a train like Walt could have, he'd be fricking dead. Just a pile of shite on the tracks.
And Walt's reply was short and to the point so he got bonus points for that.

In a tent camping while it was raining outside with a leaking tent and mosquitos inside. Worst experience of my life.
Similar experience. Except my buddy forgot the tent. But we figured wed be alright until it started pouring. A bunch of us tried to sleep in my friends jeep. Wasn't working so we decided to go get the other truck, they only let one car by the camp site. Well on the way to get other buddies truck, my friends jeep slid off the road and almost into the lake. We spent all night trying to get the jeep out. We were soaked and had all been eaten up by ants. All this happened while my buddy with the jeep was asleep in his tent with his gf. Well he wasn't to happy and we spent the whole next day trying to clean his car. Inside and out was full of mud. What started off as a super fun trip turned to shite.
Also spending the night in ebr wasn't fun. But I didn't really sleep

quote:not really indoors. It's pretty much wide open and the wind whips around the building. It's hard to explain. But you are only about 12 feet deep to the back of the cell to being outside and the building structure (outside wall) is probably 20% steel and concrete I guess and 80% just wide open to the worlds and to be that high up where the wind is blowing so hard.... I promise you could have froze to death. Every year a handful of people freeze to death down here in the little books under overpasses and is bet the bank they aren't as exposed to wind and elements as much as I was in the HOD
