The Ace hardware by my house has a box set up to accept old flags. You may want to check with yours.

I love America as much as the next guy, but it’s a piece of fabric... if you think its time is done, throw it in the trash.

American legion or Boy Scout troop will do it for you

When I was in the scouts we went to a flag retiring ceremony where they cut the stripes from the flag and burned them one by one. It was a very solemn, serous ordeal until one of my friends pointed out that one of the guys standing at attention had popped a boner and his scout shorts were sticking straight out

To this day I don't know if that guy was:

A) Just going through puberty
B) Gay and excited to be surrounded by guys
C) The most patriotic person I've ever met

So you don't have an answer, but still can't look past your state training? Got it

Wait, you expected an answer to that idiocy?

I think the answers are pretty obvious to anyone with an IQ above room temperature. You sure you want answers?

Damn right. Who doesn't pop a freedom boner once in a while? Lord knows I did when saluting the flag during reveille. Not my fault those grey cotton shorts the Army used to issue us couldn't hold back my appreciation for freedom.

Why is this the assumption? I have an all weather flag, which is able to be flown in inclement weather, I have solar spot lighting, lighting the flag through times of darkness, and dont allow it to touch the ground.

Not hard rules to follow

Covering your face in Cheetos and burning it is the 2018 way to dispose a little garden flag.

The flippant attitude by many in this thread is exactly why Trump was voted in to MAGA.

The US Flag is much more than a piece of fabric.

It's square of polyester that was probably made in China.

Better question is why is the US the only country with such a boner for our flag?

Tossing it in the trash after its time is done is no less disrespectful than the millions of people that will be wearing articles of flag clothing all 4th of July weekend. Will you have a problem tossing your paper plates with the flag printed on them in the trash after your BBQ?

Well said.

I love this post. Liberals would use the flag for toilet tissue but I would have the boy/Girl Scouts dispose of it properly.

You in Bham? If so, take it to a Lowes' store. There's a box there for proper disposal (a local eagle scout's project)
