frick you. Have you ever been in that situation? If so and you weren't terrified then you're probably a bad person.
You took the bait, friend.

Most terrified I can remember was when they wheeled me to pre-op prep for my first open heart surgery.
But from what my wife has told me I was far more terrified in the moments before I went out the night of my second open heart surgery one week after my first. I don’t remember that one though.

. I went from room to room with my gun drawn, safety off, and finger near the trigger as I opened each door (it was just the wife and I at that time so any movement or sound on the other side and I was shooting.
Is this some training tactic or just weird wording
"Finger on the Trigger" is a figure of speech and a description of how a gun is usually drawn.

Yep
Christmas Eve about 6 years ago. Wife wakes me up and says someone is in the house. I grab my pistol and hand her a rifle and I remember telling to her stay behind me and keep her finger off the trigger. I start checking the upstairs bedrooms and closets and it's all clear then get to the living room and can see the kitchen door is open. Then I had to go to the basement and my heart was pounding. I told me wife to stand at the top of the stairs and if it wasn't me coming back up to unload that rifle on whomever it was. I check out everything downstairs and nothing.
Someone came in our house and it was scary thinking they might shoot me or me have to shoot them.

Got knucklechecked as a young teen by an insane pillhead.
My first, worst car wreck. Time slowed to a near standstill and I saw the telephone pole my drivers side door was headed for at 60 mph, certain that it would kill me.

December 21, 2012.
Got in my shelter and didn’t come out for over a month. Thought for sure I was one of the only ones left.
