Deer flies. No question. Those frickers buzz around your head fast as frick and you look like an idiot having a seizure for 5 minutes trying to swat them away

The last two weeks these things are tearing me up while at the park walking. Seem to enjoy biting me behind my ears, back of my neck and under my chin. Leaves welps for a couple of days.

Not sure what they are. I get a glimpse of a small black bug every once in a while and they bite even when it is windy.

Sounds like deer flies. They land and you have about one full second to swat them off before they bite.

Until you’ve experienced black fly or mosquito season in Canada or Alaska I don’t think you should be eligible to vote.

I’ve seen people who used deep woods off come back from canoe and hiking trips looking nearly unrecognizable due to the welts.

Never, ever for any reason go on a trip up there to the wilderness during those seasons.

Maybe buffalo gnats? They've been tearing me up this year. They try to fly up your nose and inside your ears, around your eyes. Typically get bitten on top of ears, or back of neck, or just under hat band. They leave an itchy whelp for days after.

Outdoors - mosquitoes, and it ain't even close.

Indoor fruit flies are the bane of my existence.

Lived in Bull Shoals/Mountain Home area for 2 years.Never got bit by a mosquito, horse or deer flies, biting gnats. No fire ants, never saw a roach.Had a garden, never had to spray for stinkbugs, tomato worms or any other kind of pests. No love bugs all over front of car.
Never got redbugs(chiggers).

Ticks were another story, made mistake of walking in the woods late summer, early fall couple times and would ,get covered with seed ticks by the hundreds.I would strip in the garage, put my clothes in plastic bag with Sevin dust. Then take a bath after adding cup of bleach to the water.

Loved living there, reason I left was because pay was terrible, would have never been able to retire
Til the day I die,I’ll be kicking my arse for not retiring there.
