Been in the ER for 10years. Seen alot of shite, traumas, gunshot wounds, shite chopped off. Its a fun profession if you like working under a stressful environment. Ive thought about going back to school for NP but I cant sit in an office or work 3-3 shifts treating coughs and colds. If rather be knee deep in a trauma any day of the week. My wife is a nurse aswell (no pics). Poon as far as the eye can see. Before the wife, I'd say i ran thru my fair share of sluts. Was Good times, esp when your on the clock and have one bent over the table..... Just kidding...... Maybe theres def more males in this profession than before. Id say its 50:50 now where im at.

If you are already an RN you can do RN to BSN programs. Many of them are all online which makes it easier to still work full time and go back to school.

My hospital was requiring all of us to get our BSN by 2020 or be out of a nursing job. So that was my motivator

I'm at Grand Canyon University. Many of my classmates are from all over the US. It's an accelerated program. Each class is 5 weeks. All online. No tests to study for, just a ton of writing(you basically write a paper a week for the most part). You can take a 2 week break between each class if you wish and still be considered enrolled as a student. I started September 2015 and will finish next month. Would have finished sooner but had to take some breaks.

I can answer that... yes it does

I hooked up with a nurse at a hospital in MS... was there to see my buddy's newborn and flirted with the neonatal (I think that's what she was) nurse while there.. wound up hooking up with her in the parking garage after she clocked out

Not sure if it counts because it was after hours and in the parking garage but it was still on hospital grounds

Truth. But the craziest ones are nurses. Now don't get me wrong, they are also some of the most fun. However, there is just something about women in the nursing field - and also military - that makes them a little out there. And DTF moreso than any others.

A buddy of mine just graduated as a nurse anestitist (no clue how to spell it), but he makes damn good money and slays stupid hot nurse tail.

I feel super dumb for ever busting his balls when he went into nursing.

So just to clarify, you can only try to obtain the BSN if you're already an RN?

So it would have to be LPN - RN - BSN??

Wait I think I read that wrong

Again...I think that has a lot to do with what they deal with at work. Nursing can make you very cynical. You develop a more morbid sense of humor out of necessity. You see so much messed up stuff at work that you just have to develop a way to cope with it or else you will mentally just break down.

I would imagine the same thing applies for military people....they develop those personalities as a way to cope with all the messed up stuff they see as well.

ER nurses are the biggest DTF ones imo.

NICU nurses are the ones you look to marry.

does any of this hanky panky take place in the hospital?

Most certainly does. In all of our duty stations, it happened all the freaking time. When we were in MD, two of the corpsmen were taking turns on a married female nurse...and this went on over the period of a year. And don't even get me started on the stories out of Portsmouth...

There might be LPN to BSN programs. She could look into it. With many hospitals wanting BSN nurses...I would imagine there is a quicker way for her to get her BSN.

However, there are still many places she can work at with just her RN(this all depends on area of the country you are in, some are not stressing the BSN part so much). I'm not saying she has to rush to get her BSN the day she becomes and RN...but I would suggest she consider doing it at some point.

I was just a diploma nurse for 16 years. Always said I would go back to get my BSN but kept putting it off. Then the thing with my hospital happened and it forced me back into school to keep my job. Wish I would have done it much sooner, but it is what it is.

Oh yeah, those two tours my wife did at Camp Arifjan in Iraq played with her already messed up mind (messed up as in resulting from severe childhood and early adult abuse)...

They see the most fricked up stuff as well at work. And by nature are adrenaline junkies(you have to be to want to deal with traumas all the time). I would imagine any adrenaline junky (even those not in nursing) is gonna be more sexual as well.

Well cause you already know they will make great mothers. They have the nurturing thing down pat. Most NICU nurses I know are much more family-oriented as well and want nothing more than a nice husband and a few kids and a more settled lifestyle.

From my experience on the peds floor as well...you could add pediatric nurses to the "look to marry" category. That's why I don't really have any crazy stories on sexual escapades on my floor. Most of the female nurses are the same way...very family oriented and just want to marry, pop out a few kids, and work their peds nursing job.

Sounds like a pregnant nurse who was doing her best to get me to play when we were at Norfolk/Portsmouth.

You also see a lot of fricked up stuff at work(social issues such as child abuse, people dying, etc). More so than most people in other jobs. I think some nurses internalize all that and deal with it by being promiscuous.

You get so desensitized to nakedness, genitals, body functions, etc. Sex becomes just a physical act, not some holy union.

Plus, like nurse mentioned, youre exposed to so much fricked up stuff, simple sex between two consenting adults doesn't even register on the meter.

Yeah I work in Phoenix, AZ. Been out of LA for almost 12 years now. I know Baton Rouge sucks in regards to nursing pay compared to other parts of LA. Don't know too much about NOLA area. In other threads about nursing on here...I think many have said the whole "must have a BSN" isn't really stressed so much in Louisiana in general. Like I said, some states are stressing it more(and even then it could be determined to which part of the state you reside in as well).

There are many nurses that post on here. Maybe one of them can chime in about the current nursing climate in regards to having your BSN in the NOLA area. I would imagine though that your fiancée is well aware of all this though and has discussed this at length with her nursing classmates/coworkers/friends.

LPN and RN are licenses, ASN & BSN are a degree. You can get an LPN license withou a ASN or BSN. If you have a ASN or BSN you will get an RN license. BSN is better than ASN in terms of promotions. Many RNs therefore have an ASN and go back for another year to get their BSN. Also many hospitals are now requiring an RN with a BSN

I knew a married NICU nurse who had three kids. The middle one's biological father was a doc from her hospital and her husband never knew. She was a wild one.
