I visited a church on Essen that wanted me to undergo some spiritual hypnosis thing in order to join.
The people had moved here from Oregon or somewhere to start a church in Baton Rouge. They didn't believe in death, they thought people could still be raised from the dead.
I have a lot of faith, but when someone is dead, they are dead. And I'm not being hypnotized. Creepy stuff.

Between whom? Members and the church? Members and Jesus? The church and Jesus? Members and the holy ghost?

Please clarify?

By definition, one is:

-veneration and devotion directed toward a particular figure or object

while the other is:

-a specific fundamental set of beliefs and practices generally agreed upon by a number of persons or sects

Between Jesus and his believers....and by extension Jesus and his church (which are made up of his believers).

Anything else?

There are thousands of world religions. Are all of their teachings true?

Not attacking, just questioning the logic behind this point.

"You and me", dipshit. Learn to use an objective pronoun.

And I was genuinely curious, I'd never heard that answer and it came from back to back posters. I wanted to learn more about it, not hear some smartass bullshite from you sir.

So it's a network of relationships? Not seeing how that differs from followers of Muhammed or Buddha or Lao Szu or that elephant with the shite ton of arms. Thought there might be some other explanation....

Christianity is the only religion where it is individual for each person, between them and the Creator of the Universe.

Every other religion is about dos and dont's.

There was no logic to it, just supposed to be a dumb circular argument.

No an individual relationship between me and Jesus. "By extension" I mean that believers get together in a building (the building is not the church, his people are the church) and "fellowship" with one another....re: read & discuss how Jesus wants us to live our lives and to be disciples for him.

Not quite. Hinduism does this pretty well. Hell they'll even tailor a vision of God that's right for you in some sects. Shintoism is also pretty individual-oriented.

I'll have to respectfully disagree. Taoism nearly defines itself with its grey areas. And the Bible has a METRIC shite TON of rules. Maybe I'm misunderstanding your point?
