In St Louis I grew up understanding that the word Hoosier= Redneck. That was how it was widely used. Like “look at that Hoosier with the sleeves cut off his shirt”. Having zero to do with Indiana

Must be a STL thing, never heard it before in Mid MO, my dad was at Ft. Lost In the Woods three times, and I went to Mizzou for a year and a half before joining the Navy.

"They" as in not Italians. It's still called Wop salad in some places like Rocky's.

I'll concede that if you are in Rocky & Carlo's and ask for a wop salad, they will give you one.

However, on their menu, it is designated an "Italian Salad".

Always wondered if it was Bear Bryant or the integration news clip on campus that swayed the movie so Forest would go to Alabama. The actor that played Coach did have some decent screen time and Bryant was damn near a national celebrity then but the integration scene probably carries more historical significance. Regardless, Gump is a term I wish Auburn could have inherited.

Derogatory uses of the word date back to the 1800s in St. Louis, but historians can’t pinpoint exactly when this word came about. But there are theories.

“They had a labor site here in St. Louis,” Clark said. “So, workers in St. Louis leave their jobs and the owners of the factories were able to recruit people from Indiana, which isn't that far away from here, recruit them to St. Louis to take those jobs”.

According to this theory, this fueled animosity against Indiana “Hoosiers”

Can't say it, or I'll be banned. It starts with Ni. I said it at least half a dozen times between Zachary and LSU Lab this afternoon.

The only thing I know about eskimos is that they are supposedly not supposed to drink alcohol if they fly. I don't know if its true, but for some reason I always thought that was funny, but evidently alcoholism is huge among Eskimos. And evidently if they have alcohol on a flight because it takes them less to get really drunk, but if they like to be called eskimos then who is determining who gets offended by being called certain names?

There was a TV show years ago, like cops, but different weird places, one was an Eskimo village of some sort in Alaska, the city/tribe/whatever had banned alcohol and their #1 crime was people smuggling alcohol, and I don't mean the good stuff. They had to ban mouthwash that contained alcohol. They busted a dude with contraband mouthwash that had alcohol as an ingredient. Something genetic with them, they don't process the alcohol physiologically like other races, it just sort of continues to circulate in their system, so a single shot of whiskey can have them drunk for days.
