I will be 60 years old by the time my oldest is in college. I just want to be left alone at that point in my life.

That is strange, I thought part of going to college was to not have to be around your parents so that you could do your own thing?

More parents are their kids friends instead of being actual parents and it is selfish because they are not allowing their kids to be on their own..And figure shite out for themselves.

It's like when parents try to shove shite from their childhood down their throat. It's one thing to introduce them to it and all, but I know of a mother who would only put on shows she watched when she was a kid, for her kid. She would go as for as dressing her kid up in what was in style when she was younger. It is weird. Like they are trying to relive their life instead of guiding their kids through their own life.
