The area time forgot.

The easiest place in the country to get welfare.

Cane, Cane, Cane, and dope in dog houses.

If it's shitty, we're proud of it.

The most boring drive on one of the worst stretches of road in La.

Still amazes me how many people get caught by the Marshals of Jeanerette.

I'm from the area and it is a pretty great place to be raised. It is sportsman's paradise. It is as much Cajun as Cajun can get even if we aren't "DTB". The area Morgan City, Berwick and Patterson with the surrounding towns is known as the Tri-City and stands on its own. Can be grouped with the Bayou Region (Houma/Thib), Assumption region, or Bayou Teche region. Unfortunately it'll never happen but if the three high schools would form an East St. Mary High School they would be competing for the state championship in every sport every year. The talent in the area is as good as it gets but just spread too thin between the three schools.

And to add- If you haven't done so by now you should check out the Shrimp and Petroleum Festival in Morgan City on labor day weekend. Easily one the best festivals in the state

According to most maps it's still Acadiana until you get through St Mary parish.

You've never driven from Laffy to Shreveport on I-49?
