All I know is I have worked with some sharp kids and I feel sorry for them for all the dipshits that are their age, sound like some of you are in the same boat.

Hell, I am obama's age within 6 months and I actually read an article in the New Yorker or some lib rag that went into great detail about how stupid people my age were but obama was the glowing shining exception, still ranks as the most unintentionally hilarious thing I have ever read on the internet.

If you can remember the 80s then you're not a millennial

I was 17 and a freshman when 9/11 happened. I was however taking classes with juniors since I tested out of hours. Was in business calc first summer on campus

This is like arguing with my 6 year old

You should know better than to argue with a millenial. They'll even choose which generation they want.

What trait about millennials makes all the millennials in here claim they're generation X? what are they running from?

If it was still called Gen Y it wouldn't be as bad

I don't mind being called a millennial. Just don't want to be lumped with people born in 1990s. 80s kids experienced a different upbringing than those from 1990-2000

yall can't be serious with this! "Millennials" is at the VERY LEAST 1990 and on. At a minimum, and it's probably even later than that. I'm 30, I was born in 85, I share very little in common with the millennial generation. There's no way a 32 year old (referencing the year above) is a millenial.

You're a millennial. You reached adulthood around the year 2000. Just accept it.

I am 28 and I see a remarkable difference in folks about 24 and under. They are shitty.

That's because of their age, not generation. Most kids under 24 are shitty

I'm pretty close to your age and I hate to break it to you but we weren't all that great 5-10 years ago ourselves. You can be in the same generation as someone but different spots in life. Us and those 24 year olds are going to be pretty damn similar as 47 and 51 year olds.

the consensus of our genX discussion on here was that the line of demarcation is anywhere from 81-84

I would say there's a huge difference between those who saw and understood September 11th. 1980s is not millennials, I'd say 1990.

The dictionary definition is someone reaching young adulthood around 2000. You are proposing a cap at those 10 and under in 2000.

If we weren't we could just redefine generations depending on how we "feel"

I think they share a lot of the traits but just have to get to the next stages in life to be relatable. 30 year olds don't relate to 22 year olds and 22 year olds don't relate to 17 year olds but that doesn't mean they can't be part of the same generation. It's just that generation is in an age group where people grow up and life changes rapidly.
