After reading the thread about missing home and how people don't like Baton Rouge it got me to thinking about what cities do people like but also what's considered a city or big city. For me personally anyplace with more than 2000 people is the big city imo.

It is all relative to what you are used to. Your definition is tiny to me, and it isn't even considered a city. It's more like a little town or maybe close to a village. I think of my home town of New Orleans to be a small city.

Big to huge cities are Atlanta, Houston, Miami, New York, Philadelphia, Las Angeles, Chicago, etc. Maybe over 2 million metro area for me to consider it being big. A few hundred thousand for it to be considered a city of any significant size.

I would consider 2,000 people a small town.

A "big" city would be Houston, DFW, Atlanta, Miami, Washington/Baltimore, Philly, NYC, Boston, Chicago, Toronto, Vancouver, Seattle, San Fran, LA, San Diego, Phoenix, and Denver.

Medium sized cities would be Austin, Portland, Nashville, New Orleans, Colorado Springs, St. Louis, KC, Memphis, Cinci, Columbus, Pittsburgh, etc.
