Is Vitamix really worth 400 bones? Seems insane.

Breville are best juicers. I have one but all juicers are a pain to clean. I got the nutribullet and never looked back. Trust me you will give up on the juicer after a year because of the clean up

We just upgraded from a 90's era Braun juicer to
the Omega. It is a "slow" juicer meaning the juice will keep for 3 days in the fridge. So you only have to juice twice a week or so. With most juicers, you have to drink the juice immediately or the nutrients dissipate.

Breville 800 jexl. Just rinse immediately after you juice and it takes two minutes to clean it.

We have the Breville that's similar to the one you see in 'Fat, Sick, and Nearly Dead'. It's $100, works really well, but is indeed a bit of a pain to clean.

FWIW, I've got a friend who has some health problems that he offsets with juicing, and he swears by using a blender (and getting the fiber/pulp) instead. There are a number of juicer vs blender pages out there.

The blender has the advantage of cleanup and multi-use, but the juicers usually handle hardier stuff. Depends on if you're looking for a smoothie type or juice type. I was watching America's Test Kitchen this weekend (I'm a nerd) and they reviewed blenders - the Vitamix was the winner (and $400), and the Breville Hemisphere Control was their next best ($200).

If juice, the Breville works well and has lasted us a couple years of on/off use without any major problems. It still burns through carrots, oranges, apples, and came with a recipe book.

I've only had a Champion. It's heavy though but I think it's pretty good.
