Woke up, fell out of bed
Dragged a comb across my head
Found my way downstairs and drank a cup
And looking up, I noticed I was late

Found my coat and grabbed my hat
Made the bus in seconds flat
Found my way upstairs and had a smoke
And somebody spoke and I went into a dream

Get up at 4:50, brush teeth, put on clothes and start computer. Kick arse till about 9ish when the kids start getting up. Work steady till 10:50, get some lunch, back to work about 11:30, work till 3:30.

Oh. You one of those people that “wake up early to start the day” then spend 3 hours fricking off. I wake up 7am and still accomplish the same things by 9am.

Wake up at 5:50 and brush my teeth.
Clock in at 6 and go downstairs to get the oldest kid ready for school and fix the youngest breakfast.
Start working around 6:30ish and work until lunch at 11.
Work until 1:30 ish or until all my work is done for that day.
Clock out at 2:30 and play with my little girl until brother and mom get home from school.

This Corona mess made my company realize my group can work from home and it will probably be permanent going forward.

Alarm at 0800.
Hit snooze until 9
Shower, shave, dress, out the door by 0930
Go by the bank to pick up the overnight bag. Depending on whether I have to wait behind somebody at the drivethrough, say my first cuss word of the day.
In the office by 10 or so. Dick around on Tigerdroppings. Cuss some more when I'm interrupted by work.
Lunch at 12. Usually talk on the phone with my wife, who has also been texting me all morning. Run by the bank again, hit the post office.
Back in office by two or so. More dicking around on Tigerdroppings occasionally interrupted by work, cussing, and texts from wife. Knock off around 1630.

I wonder how business travel will look like going forward. Are hotels in trouble if people aren’t doing business travel like they were pre Covid?

Roll over and look at phone at 6, if it has missed calls I know my day is gonna suck for the rest of it. If nothing, I pray it stays quiet until I get going around 8. After that it is just managing the freaking dragons until it is late enough no one calls anymore...until 6 the next morning. wash rinse repeat. My day involves a series of logistic nightmares requiring complete employee buy in to get it to work. I spend a lot of time praying everyone comes in to work every morning, no one quits, all trucks are running and nothing weird happens..then I spend a few minutes trying to find an extra employee cause I know something is going to shite with one of em on a daily basis.

I know all of our sales reps have gone to Zoom type calls with surgeons for the time being. With elective surgeries being either cancelled or postponed it has really hurt the medical device field. My job is to do the grunt work for the engineers where they can be on the phone with surgeons and reps all day. For what I get paid I can’t complain. I believe the only ones at a physical location for us are the manufacturing people ie machinist, packagers and their supervisors. I would assume business travel is trending down and will until this mess is gone.

Wake up around 6:30am and log into my computer

Read emails and do administrative work while hanging out with my wife until she leaves at 7:30

Put out fires from 7:30-4 usually take a break during the day and bullshite with my manager on the phone for an hour or two

Some days I’ll have an hour or two of meetings, some days I don’t have any

I’ll go to the gym from 4-5 a few times a week after work

That’s a rough outline of what my days look like, can’t go into detail because the issues that I run into vary from day to day.

Get in early. Park in my boss’s spot. Fill out TPS reports all day. Try to make sure the copier works, and keep my red slingline in tip top shape.
