It would only ever be used in informal spoken language. Not a big deal

It is a big deal when entire articles are written and I’m trying to figure out just what the frick they’re trying to say.

For example, I’m a DC fan and I had the hardest time trying to read a trade article on the batshit crazy Ezra Miller because it used “they” not only to refer to him but others as well. You can’t fast read and comprehend something with a bunch of bullshite in it

I had to LOL when I was reading an email from FEMA and in the signature, by the name had her preferred pronouns.

Is this a new government policy, if so the lunatics are running the asylum?

I don’t understand the

He/Him
She/Her
They/Them

Why is there the need for the / and other word? Can you be He/Them or She/Him or They/Her?

If people want to push to use gender in bios or emails, why not just simplify to
M (Male)
F (Female)
MC (Mentally Challenged)

It means the person with a mental illness identifies as multiple people with mental illnesses.

People who demand they are legally not their biological sex create major chaos when they are actually allowed to insert theyselves into female sports or the vaginas of real female prisoners for example.

This is a different issue than the one presented. The original issue is simply what do you want to be called. I’m fine with calling you whatever you want? Am I fine with a biological male playing women sports? No.

They two things are not the same.

The thing that triggers me the most about the they/them tranny pronouns bullshite is they is a plural pronoun that person is using as a singular pronoun. It's a bastardization of the English language.

It means they came up with something so nonsensical that no one in their right mind can get it right and they can live life being perpetually offended.

Don’t waste bandwidth on trying to figure it out. I treat them the same as an animal. Just use it. Hell if they’re to stupid to tell what sex they are that’s on them.

Don't concern yourself with it.

Anyone who insists on being called "they" or "them" doesn't deserve a modicum of respect.

I honestly don't know. If I'm throwing a dart blindfolded, maybe it's to maintain the symmetry to accommodate people who are using alternative pronouns (xe/xem, ze/zir, and yes, I had to look them up...), as you would obviously have no idea what they second would be inherently. Considering that the entire idea behind clearly cisgendered people announcing their pronouns is to de-otherize those who are transgender, I think that would fit.

And my distaste for people adopting alternative pronouns is yet another reason I wish English simply had a standard gender neutral singular pronoun...

I have friends who are extremely well versed in LGBTQ+ issues, and I'm fairly certain they would have no idea what most of those designations are

There are certainly descriptors in there that are common and useful (i.e. genderfluid, transgender, non-binary), but the vast majority of that chart looks like it was created by 4chan for the lulz

People seem to get really pissy when I refer to their sex and gender ambiguous babies as "it", so I'm thinking that's probably not a good solution

As an example, the way my French professors tended to explain il/elle/on was that on didn't have a direct translation in English, but the best loose translation they could come up with was "one". So "he goes to the store", "she goes to the store", "one goes to the store". In English, it sounds strange, detached, and aloof, but it's just the standard gender neutral singular in French.

It just means they cannot make up their mind what to screw or be screwed by on a daily basis.
