What does the expression “Make you slap your momma” refer to?

Seems like a phrase that should come from Alabama, but yet it is a Louisiana thing.

I thought it meant that something was so good, it would make you slap your mom - which is something you shouldn’t do - like it’s so good it makes you act bad

My kids think this expression is hilarious - when I sent them to the grocery by themselves they even bought the slap ya mama hot sauce

As a foreigner, I had never heard that phrase until I noticed Frank Davis using it a lot. Did he ever explain it, like maybe in the cookbooks he wrote?

Whatever it supposed to mean, I remember my dad did not like that phrase. Never told us why, but he always had that look of disgust whenever he heard it.
