What does the American Legion do?

I had a client ask me to join so I did. One year later and they want me to renew. They haven't had one meeting or done anything at all.

I'm not a member but the one here in thibodaux has a little bar. I go over there and drink all the time.

It's a club for veterans and supporting veterans. I think they use the money to help lobby and support for veterans across the country. I do know that they have beer and sit around and drink at the local club and get away from the wives. You should look into that.

Just a bunch of old guys drinking. I was going to join at one point. I went to the hall and when I walked into the bar area I could barely breathe... all those old people fricking chain smoking.

They're supposed to do things for veterans, hold fundraisers, benefits, etc. Also, some of them have a legion hall with a bar and the drinks are usually cheap.
