U gotta drive brah.... BTW I have 2 kids. At this point I'm frustrated with life. I don't know what will be enough. It seems like the more I make the less I have. Not to mention I paid over
40k in taxes last year and I owe 2,500 in federal! WTF

Woah, you need to start evaluating your finances. How much debt do you have? You have obviously overspent in the last 9 years.

Is the median personal income actually 112K in your zip? If you are in an area with a high-end neighborhood mixed with more average areas and condos/apartments, that may explain the high median

Yes, personal. It's a professional, family, high growth area with no apartments or condos yet. I think that it all single family explains the high median, right?

I know I would consider us upper middle class but don't know where you could make the upper class distinction. Going by the posts here, we are OT Ballers but I don't think of us this way.

I'm just saying after I pay a $1400 house note and 2 $600 car notes I live check to check...... Only difference between me and a guy in a trailer in Livingston is the bank will give me more rope to hang myself with. Money just doesn't go far. I remember being 20yrs old and thinking people who make 70k should have all their shite together... Now I make twice that and I actually had more cash then.

I'm the same way. $2,300 house note, $850/mo car note and wife's car paid off (but she's due a new one and the kid needs one in a couple years). Every time I had a major jump in earnings, I adjusted my lifestyle up a notch or two to suck up the extra money. $6K/mo. in living expenses and $5K/mo. in expendable income, yet I still have $25K in credit card debt.
But there is one major difference between guys like us and the guy in a trailer in Livingston: if we had to, we could ditch all the unnecessary crap and pay everything off pretty quickly. Thankfully, we don't have to and probably won't have to any time soon.
I live my life under one major financial philosophy : "You can't take it with you when you die."

I see you care deeply about the future of your wife, children and other future family. I wish you were my dad

Whoa, wtf are you doing dude?

If you've been making $100k+ for 9 years and have <10k in the bank you're fricking up.

This guy is absurd. I should have close to 150k in savings by the time I am 30 with no loans or CC debt. I will make 100k before I am 30.

Depends...

Is the definition based on salary?
Net worth?
Upbringing?
Refinement/comportment?
Occupation?
