My niece’s ex- husband worked for Mr. Wilson at one time (doing what I don’t know). He praised him to the moon and back as to what a nice and generous guy he was. A childhood neighbor of mine, Mr. Jack Marbrough, was on the cover of one of Mr. Wilson’s albums. They were arm wrestling in the picture on the cover. The name of that album was “Me I Got a Friend”. He lived on Pete’s Highway for years. Never heard anything bad about him. Seemed like a nice, down-to-earth person.

He wasn't Cajun. He was actually a friend of my dad's and after my dad passed my maw maw would take me to visit him off oh Pete's Hwy. He was married to Mama Sarah at that time. I really liked him.
My mom is on the cover of one of his comedy albums. He started as a safety man and telling stories at safety meetings

People from Roseland DO NOT even have a hint of a Cajun accent.
Unless you think JB Edwards has one.
Roseland malt shop is legit!

I met a guy last week that I would have bet my last dollar was a coonass. I asked him where he was from and waited for him to name some city is South Louisiana. His answer - St. Thomas, Virgin Islands. Apparently they speak "Virgin Islands Creole" which is English-based.
BTW - I saw Justin Wilson at the airport in New Orleans back in the early 80's.
