Unless your kids are Mexican, why on earth would they be on your roof?

For all the smartasses, if I am sitting downstairs, that is the ceiling. Yes, it is the floor as it pertains to the second floor.

Olympic style is very technical. If you are thinking about doing it in your house then you honestly shouldn't be considering it.

I was in the Junior Olympics 3 times in weight lifting. I think I can teach it.

Junior Olympics is about a 5% improvement over the special Olympics. GTFO with this stuff.

Plywood and horse mats?

Yeah - you can build a no shite lifting platform, too - just to be trebly secure:

Athleticlab.com link, although there are dozens from Crossfit sites

Okay so assuming you have decent oly lifting numbers and knowledge of what the movements are like..

Why the hell would you need to resort to this. There are so many other options I would do before Oly lifting in the upstairs of my home. Join an actual gym, garage gym, outdoor gym, etc.

But you didn't make the Olympics, like, the real Olympics. Let me guess, you just didn't want to do it, right?

I set state powerlifting records for drug free classification, all age combined. Whatever you did prancing around in slippers and a unitard when you were watching Sponge Bob doesn't impress me.

Make sure you install a pullup bar as well so you can do powersets of heavy snatches, C&J's, and kipping yank-ups

Says the guy doing 'the jerk' and 'snatch'. I bet you think masturbation is an athletic event too, huh?

Sorry you don't like snatch. Not that there is anything wrong with that....
