Depends on age.
Under 25, a BC over a 2 is completely unacceptable
Around 30, a BC of 5 is an acceptable maximum
From 40 and up, a typical BC of 10-12

Birth control (if you use the right kind) is extremely effective, so I don’t think what you wrote above is a good explanation for why women SHOULD be more careful when it comes to sex. I do think what you wrote above is an excellent explanation for why women ARE more picky when it comes to sex. 60 years of the pill isn’t enough to undo millions of years of evolution.
