God that article was awful.

No agenda here, obviously.

True, there are pill mills and physicians w/ financial incentive tied to opioid dependency, but they are dwarfed by the number of drug seeking patients who were hooked on their own accord, by their own means, and game the system to feed their addiction. That's on them.

How about this, when you are prescribed medication, do not take it upon yourself to exceed the prescribed dosage.

It is not possible to identify ahead of time what a persons reaction to a drug will be, some people have become addicted to Oxycontin, and other opioids in as little as 5 days when taking the medication exactly as prescribed.

what kind of half baked analogy is this? Beer is not prescription medication. I drink beer for the taste and for the buzz, and if I become an alcoholic it will be my own fault, not Sam Adams'

and we're just hearing about it now. seriously this is the second time in two days I've seen one of these articles and it's pure demagoguery. Prior to yesterday not a peep.

You must have your head buried in the sand then, because most Americans under 40 have been hearing about this for the last 5-6 years.

And spare me all you high and mighty bullshite about personal responsibility. We all get that. Doesn't change the fact that a big Parma and Doctors are prescribing shite that changes your brain chemistry, effectively taking that choice away, for shite like finger pains.

I am quite sure you want to hear none of it. The fact that you think personal responsibility is "high and mighty" says a lot about you.

I admit the article is biased, its alternet...lib stuff usually there.. I was actually looking for the echo chamber of lies the left loves the rant about involving Trump, Trilateralists etc., when I came across that article. It struck a chord with me because of 2 friends deaths the last year or so...

no harm no foul...carry on

You don't know shite about me, but I am sure you think you do based on this one interaction. That's how people like you operate. Life is real simple in your black and white world.

Serious question, who are you currently backing for president?

Who would you say is at fault:

The guys who made the choice to take an addictive medication and abuse it?

Or the Dr that wrote a script to a patient complaining of pain?

Or the pharmacy that dispensed the drug?

Or the manufacturer that promoted a product they created?

At the end of the day, i believe the responsibility lies on the end user who choose to abuse the drug.

what about numerous people who use Opioids and do not become addicted?

I have used them occasionally for years without issue. It takes just a little will power to say "that's enough for today." All these tards who keep ODing will result in ever more government reaction.
