I cherish the times I get to watch my kids play sports or anything else they do, but the schedule just have us spread thin right now. Just a busy season.

I still consume constantly. History, nature, literature, mythology. I just don’t read words from a book.
God i miss that feeling though, getting lost in a novel, painting all those pictures in my head.

I suppose I write more than anything now.

It’s an obsession. I don’t know what’s wrong with me. I munch on a morsel of a moment and it just comes out. And why do I rhyme so much!? It’s a disease. Sometimes I wish I was normal. Boring. Not this mess of a man that I am. I wrote a damn ode to biscuits the other night!

I get really depressed sometimes. That everything i do and write is utterly pointless. Drivel, palp and pablum.

I feel worthless and meaningless and just a damn idiot. But then…luckily I have love to chase away the dark and twisties, demons that plague my mind. They lie. I don’t listen to them. And I just keep going, keep writing, keep singing.

I remember when my kids were younger, my son was on the sixth grade “senior” football team while my daughter cheered for the 1-2 grade “freshman” team. I coached my son in football while my wife coached our daughter in cheer.

All games were on Saturday starting at 10 AM with the freshmen game. We had to be there by 9:30. My son’s senior game was the last, after the freshmen, sophomores, and juniors. The games always went a little long so if I remember right, his games usually kicked off around 2:00 and lasted until about 4:00. We'd be at the stadium literally day.

I don’t understand why the words pop into my addled brain. Burning, churning, turning like wheels, great gears, cogs in this mad machine that is me, a macabre madman’s mind. But it seems that things just like to flow. There is an order to my madness. I’m just not always certain what it is. I don’t seek it out but poetry finds ME in Everything . I’ll muse over crumpled up pieces of trash.
