That minimalism isn't some weird concept. The amount of meaningless purchases and accumulations looking back is absurd.

I learned that lesson the last time that I moved.

There were no high rise condos at Gulf Shores when I was in high school. Just a smattering of beach houses, empty lots, and a few ratty beach motels. I wish I had bought as much property as I could possibly afford.

Amazing isn't it? Sucked. And think about it, there's no telling the annual sales in billions of moving sales, garage sales and the like. We just buy shite just to buy shite

Getting married is a bad idea
Getting married then having kids is a worse idea
Having kids before you get married is the worst idea

That i don’t always need to speak/say crap. Just smile, be polite and keep your circles much smaller. Also, that i don’t always have to try and prove myself. I couldn’t control my maturity level but i believe i tried too hard to look/be cool and be liked. Looking back that’s waste of time and pathetic.

I did a mass purge and never looked back.
Like the old saying, the things that you own end up owning you.

The weeds are high where corn don't grow.
Not even kidding, I wish I knew that. Its funny how you have everything figured out when you are a kid and the older you get its like the less you know.

Women really aren't that hard. As long as you're confident, at least average in the looks department, and aren't a social idiot you'll do just fine.

Investing is a life lesson, IMO. If I could have an hour to talk to my 18 year old self and give him advice, investing would be one of my first topics.

My dad has been single for a long time and he told me his goal is to never own more stuff than he can fit in a small Uhaul trailer that he can pull behind his truck. Says he wants to be able to pack up and leave town in a few hours

Yep. Minimizing and simplifying eliminates most of the clutter in your mind. When you realize the arms race to keep up with the peers is a race to the bottom.

I'm married so I have decorative pots with sticks in them and other stuff that a straight man would never own

I agree.
I wasn't referring to investing in general as a life lesson.
I was trying to avoid a bunch of responses like "I'd go back in time and play the winning lottery numbers, or put every penny that I had in Apple 30 years ago etc"
