What are some terrible brand names that exist? (actual NAME, not the product)

Been seeing the Shinola banner ad resulting from the watch threads on here I assume.

"Shinola" immediately reminds me of the old saying "you don't know shite from shinola". I would never consider buying the product for that reason. Terrible product name imo.

What are some others?

**to clarify, I'm referring to the actual name of the product brand, not the quality of the products themselves.

Taste like piss and leaves a terrible aftertaste in one's mouth.

What about Shinola shoe polish?

ETA: I have a feeling that might be too subtle for most on this board.

The company that makes Shinola shoe polish, where the name from that saying comes from, also makes watches.

The AYDS weight loss pills from the 80s. Not their fault, but I don't feel bad that their phony product got destroyed.

read the backstory. the fact that you remember the name enough to bitch about it shows their marketing works. I've got a really nice belt from there.

You do realize that if you can't tell shite from shinola that means you are an idiot. So, if you aren't buying the product because you think it is shite...

It doesn't work on me, I wouldn't buy a Shinola product although I'm not doubting what you got is nice.

Not really. The Detroit company bought the naming rights then started lifestyle branding. Now they sold out.

They may make some shoe polish, but they are a watch assembler that makes shoe polish if so.

Aren't all of their products made in the USA?. If so, that right there is enough for it to not suck.

I didn't really investigate their history, I was just speaking of the brand name.

It's hard to tell the difference because it resembles actual shite.

Shinola was a popular brand of shoe polish, which had a color and texture not unlike feces.

Watches are only assembled in the US, I think.

Know a guy who works for them, think in their marketing or branding department.

So, you are saying that people use the phrase "you don't know shite from shinola" when two products are very similar as to be difficult to be seperated. Is that what I am led to believe?
