LeBeau Mansion in Arabi was a cool place but was burned down a few years ago. Some kids on drugs couldn't get any ghosts to appear so they literally burned it down.

There was a old public spring fed swimming hole in Kisatchie National Forest near Woodworth, LA called Castor Plunge. The road through the forest from Woodworth to Twin Bridges Rd. is still named Castor Plunge. It was a large campground with cabins for rent and this huge manmade swimming hole with beaches that was filled and circulated with fresh cool spring water from Castor Creek. It's all grown up now with just old foundations and trees growing up in the swimming hole. The old concrete sides and ladders are still there. Here are some pictures from back in its hay day:

It's crazy when you're walking along in the woods hunting, and then just come upon a huge old swimming pool in the middle of the forest.

Camp Livingston just north of Pineville, LA was once the largest military base in Louisiana in WWII.

Now it's a bunch of old bunkers, and building foundations with a grid of old concrete roads with possibly unexploded ordinances laying around. I wouldn't go out there at night though and it's crawling with meth heads and devil worshipers.

Camp Claiborne was another large WWII military post just south of Alexandria near Forest Hill. Its also abandoned now with unexploded ordinance signs around. There are also stories of buired planes, vehicles, and sealed containers full of weapons buried out there still.

The Advocate

A lot of people go out there and ride dirtbikes and fourwheelers now.
