I know a driver for Republic that makes 120k but he works about 30 hours of overtime every month.
just googled CWS driver pay in my county, and I know sometimes google can be pretty inaccurate, but average CWS driver pay is way lower than that, like about half or less of that

That’s interesting considering it’s union work and the top negotiated rate is just over $45/hour
even if he was right...i mean 50 an hour is good money but that is only $104k per year base. Sure lots of union benefits but like many trades they make their money with shite loads of overtime.
I know you would prolly agree it gets hold hearing about how much bank the blue collar jobs are making and after they post their pay and we dig a little deeper....sure they are making "200k" a year if you include the 1500 hours of overtime worked, their pension, helathcare etc
its just comical to me because if I asked you mingo as a white collar worker what you made....you would more than likely tell me your salary, ask one of the union blue collar guys and they will tell you their total compensation including OT.
im fine with it but i sure wish most of the OT would stop acting like working 65-75 hours a week is something to be proud of. and i wish the OT would stop with the total comp comparison when talking about how the trades are such a better deal than going the college then white collar route because the blue collar total is the same as the salary of the white collar.
i mean is our time not worth anything?
btw ignore roger, he is on his period again.

Waste Management recently was paying 100k to be on the back of the garbage truck. They had to pay it to get anybody to do it. Driver paid 75k.
The more “prestigious” a job, the less it pays because it’s easy to find employees. A banker for example, doesn’t make squat because they work inside and get to say they work at a bank. Garbage man and window washer are not prestigious so they have to pay more.
WM pays that after you factor in shite loads of OT
and true bankers absolutely rake. Sure the teller doesnt but the actual banker, loan officer etc make damn good money
The OT really is absolutely fricking clueless.

Roger your obsession with the elevator inspector is weird AF. There is a reason we have them because as a country we had way too many failure before hand. I can tell you I personally find them to be pretty important when I am riding an elevator.
and dude...please dont call other raging homos considering your past.

Yeah, I mean if I quantified my fringe benefits (cell phone, gym stipend), retirement, time off, healthcare, etc, etc, I’d triple my “pay”

exactly but a union electrician will say he makes 200k a year and when you press them they will say yea.....that I do when you add in my retirement, healthcare, OT pay etc.....
ok well i make 2x my salary or more when you add that in.
shits annoying and imo shows extremely low IQ and its supposed to be some kind of flex when really its more of an indicator of low iq.

I was talking to a buddy of mine who makes 100k driving around the Atlanta area inspecting elevators and escalators. What are some other less heard of jobs that pay well and are in demand?
Hard to imagine how "less heard of jobs" would include Elevator Inspector when every elevator in the US has a current inspection record posted inside the cab and most of those have a place for the inspector to sign.
I have a friend, 80 years old, who is a AWS Senior Certified Welding Inspector who also has certification as a NQA-1 Lead Auditor. He works about 3 months a year for Bechtel in a welding consultant. He makes about $400k a year and has made a comparable salary since he was about 50 years old. He has pretty much written the book for welding inspections in the Department of Energy and NNSA.
I have another friend, PhD in Mechanical Engineering, who is a certified causal analyst who pretty much wrote the book on performing causal analysis' in the Nuclear and Transportation industry. He is the editor in chief of, I think, an American Quality Society periodical on causal analysis and provides causal analysis to industries around the world. I do not know what he makes but I have fished a bunch off a seriously nice 46 foot bertram he has at his estate in West Palm Beach...so I think it is a lot.
I know a man who literally created the process for starting and re-starting DOE and NNSA Nuclear Facility Operational Readiness Reviews. I have done several of those with him as the NQA-1 Construction QA SME. One of these was at his horse ranch in Connecticut....I have not seen his financials but I have seen that ranch....I think he is also making some serious money....

My advice is to network. You need as much multi engine PIC as possible to make you look better to the airlines or cargo or whatever route you want to go. To get a right seat at a regional you technically only need 50 multi engine hours on top of the 1500 but right now its very competitive with lots of guys with several hundred multi looking for a right seat. Just meet as many people as you can wether through flight clubs or your local FBO. Everything in life is about who you know. I came from the military as a pilot so technically I only needed 1,000 hours but I had much more. If the military were ever something you would be interested in then thats a great way to fly but its very selective.

I know a lot of very successful agency owners. I also know a lot of dudes who wanted to be agency owners who never made it past inside sales and never made any money.
(The ones I do know don’t act like new money douchebags like you)

You keep saying this, but it’s utter bullshite
Meanwhile you’re one of the most pretentious posters on the OT. We probably have a lot more in common and would probably be friends IRL, but you can’t help but be an a-hole for no reason.
