Just cancel it. Find you some tv shows you like, and just buy the seasons or stream them off the web. Do other things other than sitting in front of tv is an alternative. You can stream live events for the most part with some google help. Time to cut the cord.
Plus if you ain't heard, all the major tv channels are owned by 6 major conglomerates and they also own many of the mainstream magazine, newspaper, and radio outlets. ESPN brags about their hundreds of affiliate sites on the local radio, to use just as an example. So most of the mainstream media are pushing their certain agendas through their slew of media outlets (radio, tv, internet, newspaper, etc), which is why their bullshite is always in your face. Throw in the corrupt politicians and you see how many of the sheep are easily manipulated.

Nothing political about pastries, or soufflés, or remodeling distressed WWII era homes in New England.

Theres plenty of things I used to enjoy. Sports to name one. Now you can't even watch a sitcom or hell even a TV show that's based on true events without some pc shite thrown in the middle of it.
People get pissed because no minorites are cast in movies that depict the lives of the first Europeane settlers. Really? They were all white, that's why they don't have any black dudes playing John Smith and Thomas Jones from Jonestown.

I can't watch sports (they were talking about it on the Golf Channel for God's sake),

and I sure as hell can't watch anything coming out of Hollywood without being lectured on how anyone that doesn't hare Trump is a bigot.

Netflix has a lot of options to watch series you missed in the past. They don't have commercials either.
