Best friend is named Michael James XXXX, II instead of Jr. Kids asked him if he was a Jr when he was little and he said, “No, not Jr, 2”. Then he was would say his name is Michael, too, like his father. By the time he reached middle school his nickname was “Two” and then it stretched into “Two - Too”. To this day EVERYONE knows him as Two-Too. He was always #22 in every sports and always called it #Two-Two.

I'm a II.

Named after my uncle not my dad.

Maybe learn what suffixes mean OP.

George Foreman has 12 children, five sons and seven daughters. His five sons are George Foreman Jr., George Foreman III ("Monk"), George Foreman IV ("Big Wheel"), George Foreman V ("Red"), and George Foreman VI ("Little Joey")

Something wrong with that if you ask me.

Most guys I've seen like that are named after a grandfather or great grand or even an Uncle who has passed away, often in homage to that person. My son is named after my dad, I chose not to use the II since my father is no longer alive. Jr indicates a son. That's been my experience.

I thought you only become II if you make your son a III

Not only, but that could also be a reason. Most III's probably don't go by Jr. anymore.
