I think the growth rate of plebs need to decline. The world could do just fine with a smaller population of more educated people in terms of advancement and technology. And we just need to hang on until we either have some huge discovery in physics that make space travel much easier/faster or we simply brute force space travel. Once this occurs I would expect population to equalize around the amount of living space we can provide
