West Monroe man steals tree stand, deer feeder to pay for urine test kit

A West Monroe man is facing multiple charges after deputies with the Ouachita Parish Sheriff's Office reportedly caught him the act of stealing hunting equipment.

The suspect later told law enforcement he stole the items to pay for a synthetic urine test kit so he could get a job.

According to the department, deputies responded to a report of a subject possibly stealing a deer feeder and game camera from a location in a wooded area near Ole Highway 15 in West Monroe early Tuesday.

Deputies reportedly searched the wooded area and located the suspect in the area with possession of the stolen property.

Kevin M. Cupp, age 21 of West Monroe, was arrested at the scene.

Per an OPSO report, the suspect was in possession of the 50-gallon feeder, the camera and a 15-foot stolen tree stand.

Further investigation by OPSO Investigators determined the suspect was also in possession of a pond boat and a canoe, both previously reported stolen to OPSO.
