The TP thing is a real struggle. I probably have enough to last another week. I'm not ready to go on yet another expedition just to find toilet paper.

Damn, good luck.

If my estimates are correct we have AT LEAST enough TP for 2 1/2 months. And have had the supply long before there was any TP crisis. That is the "AT LEAST", it is probably more like 4 months worth.

I just always check a store's supply when I go to one to report what it is like in Houston. But after what I have seen at Kroger, Walmart Market and ALDI the last two weeks, I may pick some up IF I ever see it again, just in case.

Interesting stuff, but you still need your regular store.

Agree. My Walgreens is bigger than the ALDI I go to. Pretty limited and the majority is off-brand.

but I know it is a lot of the same stuff they sell at Trader Joe's with a different label on it

The first time I went to an ALDI I got a box from a guy stocking the freezer section. He looked at the stuff I had and told me that he thought everything was "Twice as Nice". I was like "that's cool". He told me that it means if you buy it and don't like it, bring it back and they will not only give you your money back but another item of the same or less price for free just for your trouble.

Their milk is Borden quality for a lot less and the Benton chocolate chip cookies are better than Nabisco. I bought other off-brand stuff today to try it out. I bought a 16 ounce jar of creamy peanut butter for $1.15. I love me some damn peanut butter. If it is not as good as my Jif, I will bring it back and get my money - can't beat that.

Love me some ALDI, but the one near me hasn't had TP since February.

If I've learned anything it's to avoid wholesale clubs during pandemics. Regular stores have basically the same traffic. You won't find toilet paper, kleenex, or disinfectant wipes but everything else is there. I guess people got over the food shortage thing fast but still crazed over toilet paper.

I don’t understand the fascination with Aldi. Worst store I’ve ever been to.

Concur.

It's like Trader Joe's and Costco had a baby and got all the worst genes.

Walmart has a cap on the number you can buy. (I think 2 packs). So it is now less hoarding, more demand.

Getting close to running out. The worst part of shopping for TP is it's an "In-store purchase only". Can't have it delivered, or pick it up, without going into the store with the "Virus is a hoax" people.

Sam's shows it available online, but when you go to "Begin checkout" it says one item is out of stock.

May go see what Dollar General has at 7 am tomorrow.

The reason everyone is stocking up on TP is to prepare for when they look at their 401Ks.

What’s the beer situation at Aldi? It looks like it’s sort of craft beer? I’ve never pulled the trigger.

My wife freaked out when this started. Couldn’t find TP anywhere. We had 7 of the big cottonelle rolls. That they say are equivalent to 4 normal rolls. My sister brought some by a week ago. Our neighbor dropped some odd today. We still have 2 of the big rolls left and haven’t had to crack the new supply open yet. I mean we have a shower, no need to panic. Wipe once or twice and shower off. Plus we have a little one still in diapers and a ton of baby wipes.

Some is good. Their knock off blue moon and shiner are good enough but I'll pay a couple dollars more for something local.

I didn't want to say anything on here. Shopping there is very pleasant right now.

If OT types start going there it will be like a Walmart that is right off the freeway.

I have quit walmarting and just go to publix or ALDI. Cleaner and better scenery. I'm ok with paying a little more for those things.
