Don't order brisket in the "Hog and Hominy State"- get pork

And if you get a pulled pork sandwich, be sure to get slaw on it (if you've never had it, try it).

Tin Roof just opened on Beale and is pretty cool.

If you are looking for late night hit up Raifords

As far as BBQ I would go to the BBQ Shoppe.

I second this fine establishment on Madison Ave. Hands down, best barbecue in town.

Go to any of Kelly English (Iris, Second Line, drawing a blank on the one downtown) or the Hudman/Ticer restaurants (Andrew Michael, Hog & Homiony, Porcellinos).

BBQ places would depend on whether you want pulled pork, chicken or ribs.

Depending on where you are staying you might want to go check out the Broad Street area, Bounty is a nice restaurant and the Rec Room is a bar that has stuff like ping pong, foosball, old school arcade games, Nintendo/Super Nintendo games and sports on a huge screen, cornhole, all kinds of things to do.

Grizz games, Civil Rights Museum, Sun Studios

There's a relatively new restaurant called South of Beale. Damn good. Duck fried rice is legit. Their Jack and Coke bread pudding is awesome. This place has been featured on Travel Channel, so it has that going for it.

Screw the uppity restaurants. Go and get a double cheeseburger at Dyer's, and some Gus's fried chicken. Then start off the late night at Slinky O'Sullivans and end up at Raiford's.

Central BBQ for BBQ Nachos

BBQ Shoppe for everything else.

The service at the latter is kind of slow but the BBQ quality is the best I have ever had.

Germantown Commissary is good too if you are way out East.

Chicken tenders at Alex's were basically a right of passage. Best tasting food in the universe at 3AM. The bartender DNGAF about anything and I love it.

The duck patty melt is awesome too. I went to high school with Ed, so send him all the business he can get.

Also forgot to mention going to Ernestine's late night for a soul burger

This shows me that you don't comprehend many of my posts then. Don't feel bad, I can be hard for the common man to keep up with.

Pearl's was pretty ok and the Flying Saucer was neat for a Saturday Night (It was the Santa Pub Crawl when we were there ... there were a lotta Drunk Santas!!).

Of course go to Graceland and Sun Studios was great (but again my husband plays guitar so .. but I really enjoyed it as well)
