Weekend in Europe with lady friend- where should we go?

She's studying in Munich and has a free 3-day weekend at the end of May.
I'm not sure where I'll be yet- somewhere in Germany.
What is the best city to go to for 3 days within about 6 hours of Munich (by train or bus)?
So far, seems all of Switzerland is fair game. Zurich? Geneva?
Vienna, Austria?
What about Italy? Could do Milan or Venice.
Hard to pick what to do. I want to do some cliff diving this summer but doesn't have to be this particular weekend. Seems like Switzerland would be the place for it though. Would like a good combo of shite to do outdoors (beaches, water activities, etc) and also a prominent city aspect.
Where do you all get info for traveling in Europe? TIA.

Vienna is meh. Venice is cool for a day or so but expensive. Geneva and Zurich are both very pretty. You're likely better off hittig up some towns in Germany.

Innsbruck Austria is a lot of fun with a ton to do surrounding it, no water access though.

Do you do research before you travel? If so, where?
I've seen your threads and enjoyed them.
What's your email? Would like to pick your brain. I'll be traveling Europe all summer.

Milan
Is an industrial city. As much as I love Italy Milan is the last place I'd go for a three day weekend.
Turin would work though and if you're into wine it gives you access to the Piedmont wine region which has some spectacular wines and food to match.

I normally google a lot, use the info from posters here if available. My trips usually have something specific I am going for and the rest is bonus. Angkor Wat was my goal for my Thailand/Cambodia trip.
It's been a long time since I was in Germany, my dad was stationed there for three years when I was younger, I was stationed in Sicily for two years in the mid 90's. My info would be on stuff I saw not necessarily on the current climate and state of things. If you are still interested ulqqked at yahoo.

shite, sorry to hear that. Next time take off more time and fly her here. You can still make the most of it though if you bring some DVDs and stuff.
