I think even the biggest AEW haters have to admit their presentation is much better than NXT

Well I haven't watched AEW yet (still watching NXT) but they must have improved from all their PPVs if that is the case.

This is the problem that I have with this line of thought.....the damn matches that Cody, the Bucks, Orange Cassidy, Moxley, etc have that take place in high school gyms in front of 300 fans are lauded as great entertainment but those same people bitch because the crowd isn't lit in NXT.....but Raw and SD would kill to have the crowd reactions that NXT does. It's old school and it's not bad.

intrigued by the inclusion of Guevara into this "faction" with Jericho, LAX, maybe Moxley, maybe Hager too

I had a run-in with him when I was a a teen where he attempted to jump over the railing and come after my buddy & me after we yelled that he sucked and that we wanted JR back (JR had just jumped to WWE and Tony had replaced him). Never really cared for him after that.

Moxley attacked Jericho on his debut too, so I'm pretty sure he's not in on the group, just wanted to attack Omega.

And AEW needed more heels outside of MJF and Jericho, they accomplished that tonight.

NWO on TNT.

the NWO was old WWF guys who were supposedly "invading" WCW

AEW can do that too

get Cody to turn on Omega & the Bucks to become basically "Hollywood" Hogan

then you got Chris Jericho, Jon Moxley, Dustin Rhodes, Shawn Spears, Jake Hager

that'd be 1 hell of a "takeover"-style heel faction

Bottom line is, AEW, no matter what they do, will never match WWE in production. They want NXT to have a much smaller more intimate feel, and that’s what it is. Saying that AEW is superior to NXT as far as production goes really isn’t saying much, because they don’t invest much at all into that sort of stuff for NXT.

I just fear that if AEW brings in too many WWE retreads that fans will view it just like they viewed TNA — “a bunch of old WWE guys”

Sure they can retread and go down the same road or they can do something different.....I thought it was gonna be something different not Dubya-Cee-Dubya.....but like I said I need to give it a watch.

and you expect what's basically a start-up to immediately challenge the top dog?

that's not going to happen

tonight was a step in a good direction for AEW though

That was back in 93 at Beach Blast in Biloxi — Ventura had to hold him back and then Doug Dillinger told us to take it easy on him bc he was having a rough time (?)

Never said that — I already said I’ll give them time to work out the kinks, kinda like when a new restaurant opens

But no matter what, AEW will never match WWE in production. That’s WWE’s forte

I dunno....just a shot in the dark. I remember him saying we was pretty paranoid at one point because of it.

On the flip side maybe he was just a dick i dunno

as long as AEW forces WWE to get its head out of its collective arse where it's been for the last 5 or 10 years... then the wrestling fan wins

that's always been my take

Most of them were dicks. They used to use my buddy’s catering company and he said they were all assholes, with the exception of a very few (like DDP)

I'll say this for NXT......Cole v Riddle was a good match and I was thoroughly sports entertained by it BUT HHH should have found a way to get Gargano and Cole booked together on this show....Gargano v Thorne was good too but Cole and Gargano have HBK and Brett type chemistry in the ring.....it also sucks that Ciampa wasn't cleared for this show. NXT was good but not great by their standards.

MJF is going to be such a good a-hole heel for such a long time

what Robert Roode and/or EC3 should be in WWE

any word on Fox & DISH negotiations?

are they anywhere close to getting this resolved?

I still don't have Fox heading into Friday's SD on Fox debut
