He's got a point though.
People are spoiled by the technology so they blame it everytime it doesn't 100% predict what happens.
I'd rather them predict horrible storms and they don't happen than the other way around.

Why didn’t they close down the schools and government 25-30 years ago when I was in school everytime it rained?

Days like today remind me of how ignorant the average person is with respect to probability.
Weather doesn't give a rat's arse about who lives where. If a tornado blows through BR, everyone thinks this forecast was undersold if it blows through the basin, people think it was a bust.
I'd suggest two things for most of you going forward:
1) get all of your information from Weather.gov.
2) try to use the slightest bit of critical thinking when looking at the maps/forecasts

Here's an area where shite might get really bad
Entire area closes down
shite gets really bad in certain spots within the area warned earlier
You: but my specific house was in that area but didn't get hit so this prediction was bullshite.

Plus, it probably isn't a full shutdown of government stuff today if it wasn't right before a long weekend. Schools I'm sure would have, because they were set to get out when the worst risk was happening.

I get all that, but nothing South of I10 didn’t get anything more than just a normal spring shower today yet they had every school and government office closed.
The forecasts when I woke up at 6 was calling for major tornados all afternoon

I understand that weather isnt an exact science, the situations change from minute to minute, and you cant predict that a tornado will go up Canal Street at 4:34 PM two days from now and I appreciate anyone who subjects themselves to crazy people and their comments to get information out.

For starters, they're much better at predicting the weather a day or two out. I know that sounds like blasphemy, but remember it's all relative.

No. It wasn't. At least from official sources it wasn't.
1 am, had 5% chance of any tornado within 25 miles of a location in SELa. No hatch to indicate any risk of EF2+. Didn't change through the day.

I use that one more and I forget it's not easily findable from the weather.gov homepage.
