Currently live in NC. Don’t say “hurr durr the south”. I’ve lived in the south most my life and don’t remember it being this bad to where thunderstorms are forecasted almost every day since April. I believe this is the wettest past 12 months on record as well. The frick is going on? Can’t plan any outdoor events.

This is how it was in the early 90’s, we’ve been in a long dry spell

Weather in the South from late May to September.

Highs in upper 90’s
Humidity in lower 90’s
30% chance of afternoon showers

That is literally the daily forecast everyday.

I don't know what's causing it but it's screwing around with travel plans. Had a 3 hour delay on Wichita to Atlanta tonight due to thunderstorms in ATL, switched to Wichita-Minneapolis and now delayed for the flight attendants that were stuck in Charlotte. NYC is a mess right now with 4 hour delays

This is more because airlines have more flights with tighter schedules imo

Seriously though, this is the wettest 12 months on record for 18 states, and the wettest for the US ever (in 124 years of records).

ETA - wettest July to June. Not necessarily the wettest rolling 12 month stretch.

If you’ve really lived in the south your whole life and are perplexed by this weather, you must have spent most of your life on you mom’s basement playing video games in the dark with headphones on.

Hurr durrr doofus, this has been the 4th wettest July to June ever in LA. Acting like it's typical is incorrect.
