Doesn't bother me. Some folks think the person who wears them in public is showing off because they are a health care professional.

Acceptable if you go somewhere after work. I personally do it all the time but I also don't deal with truly sick patients

You forget the OT is the place where heated debates on whether or not cargo shorts are for douches despite their crap carrying abilities while chubbies are legit despite their gay attracting capabilities.

THIS SCRUB WEARING SITUATION IS SERIOUS!!

I've seen people at a bar wearing their scrubs. Always thought it was a bit douchey because but if it works, then go for it.

I work nights and make my Wal-Mart runs straight from work at 7 AM while it isn't so crowded. I don't put them on to go random places on my day off, but I'll run an errand or two in them after work and not think twice. I didn't know some people thought this wasn't OK.

If you're in the health industry, what's the problem?

I go do shite after work in my uniform all the time. Zero fricks given.

I have on my work shirt at the bar after work. I see no reason a medical professional can't do the same as long as they're clean.

Not acceptable. Anyone that wears scrubs for work should change to regular clothes before leaving work.

Unless the nurse works in the OR or burn unit (because they have to wear hospital issued scrubs)....this simply doesn't happen. My work doesn't even have a locker room for us to change in anyways.

Not necessarily. Could be a nurse, orderly, vet tech, etc. Plenty of people wear scrubs.

really?

where do the doctors and nurses have sex then, if not the locker room? i'd assumed that locker rooms were a staple of hospitals and medical offices - they're so prevalent in TV shows!

. My only beef with it is I think resident physician guy goes a little overboard advertising his status and could easily throw on some shorts.

I know you're jelly but no reason to advertise it so much on this board.

I travel a lot and one of my pet peeves is men who fly in scrubs. Usually they are sales reps for device companies (company logo on the chest), but sometimes doctors.
Don't know why it bugs me, but it does.

Doctors don't typically wear scrubs unless they are going into surgery. That's what the white lab coats are for, to go over their clothes. So when you see someone in public wearing scrubs, they usually aren't a doctor.

I wear my scrubs in public all the time. I'm not going to go home and change to pick my kid up from school, or go to the gym. I went to lunch today wearing my scrubs.
If anyone doesn't like it, they can kiss my arse.
