We killed the Easter Bunny

Our little boy informed us at Christmas that he knows Santa isn’t real.
He asked my husband today, “I know you are the Easter Bunny. Does knowing this mean that I won’t have an Easter basket in the morning?”
It would be mean prank him for April Fool’s day and give it to him after church.
I considered it for a moment. The Easter Bunny game is so lame.

do it. Teach the kid disappointment early. Also rule #1 for you.

Ya gotta believe to receive.
I say cut him off this year with a no ears, chocolate bunny.
ETA: I’ve asked for the same. I’m filling my chocolate bunny with red wine and enjoying both at the same time.

All that’s left is when he comes out of the closet.

My kid turned 9 this year and we told him about Santa, Easter bunny, etc. He took it well once he realized he was still going to get all the free shite.

You bastards!
Santa is real!!!
So is the Easter bunny, the great pumpkin and the tooth fairy - especially the tooth fairy in Livingston parish.
TF works overtime in LP.

He’s getting a basket of awesome and we get the credit, instead of a sneaky magic bunny.

You’re my favorite LP pharmacist OKB but you people are killing all the magic.

Shouldn’t he be spending Easter with his real dad?

The realization that magic fat men or bunnies aren’t able sneak into homes to leave candy for good little children is normal and healthy for an 8 year old.

My stepson is 8 and knows there's no santa/easter bunny/ tooth fairy etc. It's a buzzkill, but makes life easier in the long run.

Is your husband the boy’s father?

Well, now the portion of his life of being cute and naive are gone. His next stage you get to look forward to is catching him hooking up with girls and wondering if the lighter you found in his pocket while doing his laundry is for weed or cigarettes.
