Erika Patterson mentions the previous DV charges against him in the video... which is apparently off limits in this trial... something that was ruled on pre-trial
He was the only person in the courtroom who heard it... judge listened to it during break and confirmed she said it

I haven't followed this. Why is Brooks going to trial on this? Was he offered a deal? Has he revealed a defense? Does he deny he was driving?

Case is slam dunk. No reason to offer a plea deal.

I'm curious as to what he's going to claim as a defense, if anything. I don't really know the complete background on the case, so there could be info that I'm missing.
Has any motive been put out there? I know they don't need to prove motive.

the case is such a slam dunk the prosecution is already releasing pretty much all of their witnesses from their subpoenas as soon as they walk off the stand... not holding them for a potential re-direct

Court is supposed to return today from the weekend... despite it being Columbus Day or Indigenous Peoples Day or whatever it's been changed to this year
Judge Jennifer Dorow told Brooks he needed to file his witness list by today (I'm highly skeptical he will) and then we're supposed to get more testimony today
