I did the same thing last year except my coworker thought he would be funny when they asked nationality. He said, I'm a Cajun, I'm from Louisiana."
The BP guys weren't amused. This douche isn't cajun either.

Yes, the dog is essentially searching the inside of the car.

It's cheating.

I was thinking about giving them a hard time, but I had a couple doobs in the back, so I thought better of it.

They asked if I was a citizen. I said "Si".

I was with my buddy carlos and his wife and my wife, and the feds were eye-balling him

dude has been one of my best friends for almost 20 years but I was willing to give him up and have him sent to the gulags or the cages or whatever if it meant I got to avoid an anal cavity search

sorry bro thems the breaks

Cops running a drug dog around the outside of your car should be considered an illegal search.

Which is why the supreme court banned this activity as a part of regular traffic stops. Just sucks if you're pulled over and there's a dog within 5 minutes or whatever timeframe they'll use stall tactics to draw out the interaction for.

If the cops want to look inside my car they'll find a shite ton of crumbs, juice stains, a stroller, probably a shoe and a sock, a couple jackets, and some Chic-Fil-A toys in the back seat from my kid. In the front center console they'll find a ton of receipts that I'm too lazy to take out and throw away. And a phone charger that works about half the time if the cord is held a certain way.

So, it's "cheating" if an officer looks through a car's window and sees a dead body in the back seat? Nope, nope, nope.....

If there's a dead body in the trunk and the dog pegs it, then illegal search..

Cops try to find any way possible for a reason to search cars. Watching this show on youtube back to back to back really displays their tactics and them illegally fricking with people.

Yeah, most of the situations on the show leads to finding meth and guns and other crap, but it should be illegal.

You could be driving down the road, get pulled for not signaling a lane change 200ft before the lane change (yes, a cop pulled somebody for this on an episode). Then used every tactic in the book to do a search.

If you're libertarian or something and tell the cop you'd rather not have him search the car, red flag... he wants in that car bad now.

I think the cops do a lot of car profiling. Beat up white trash cars and gangsta cars. I've yet to see them pull over a nice car for these same stupid reasons. Always trashy people cars.

The only thing I don't like about it is that the dogs always climb all over the outside of the car and scratch the hell out of the paint. If they end up finding drugs, fine. But if the dog scratches the frick out of someone's vehicle and doesn't find anything, police dept should be on the hook for cost to repair/repaint all the damage their dogs caused. A few times of a local PD getting an invoice from a body shop for a few grand worth of paint/body work would cut down on the number of times they deploy the drug dogs without knowing for sure a suspect is hiding something.

In high school they brought a k9 out to search. Supposedly got a hit on this guy's tracker. They tore the interior carpet and cut his subwoofer with a knife to check inside the speaker box. They ended up finding nothing but didn't pay or even put the carpet back down.

My small town I grew up in is known for crap/crooked cops. One got fired and was arrested few weeks later impersonating a officer next town over. They always find these types.

They was pursuing legal action not sure what came of it. I don't see how they can tear your stuff up and when no wrong doing was found and not be on the hook for repairs.

That really doesn't take a lot of skill, the dog isn't going to testify he didn't react or was tricked into reacting.

They still need a warrant to search your car even if the dog picks up a positive scent.

I saw one episode where they guy they were harassing was mostly polite and told them no when they asked if they could look around in the car and the sheriff was like "ok" and left.

I was kind of shocked
