In 1978, they negotiated for 3 months vacation every year.

That's fricked up. Washington Parish is run like Washington D.C.

You do realize that teachers are 9 month employees and most get 9 paychecks averaged out into 12 paychecks so they get paid every month. So their “3 months of vacation” isn’t paid. Trust me, nowadays they are vastly underpaid, dealing with some awful children, even more awful parents and then having to deal with the state bureaucracy that heaps even more work on them in an ever changing ( and not for the good) curriculum or “ teaching style”..

Dont worry, in the next 10 years, they’re gonna realize. There’s a shite storm brewing.

Former school board president and lobbyist is running for state rep. Hope it costs him a lot of votes. Lobbyists have no business being elected.

This is 100% false and it’s borderline embarrassing that anyone believes it

What’s your point? You’re comparing the two?

Is that even a thing? I thought the point of a strike was to stop showing up until your demands were met

Yep, completely ignorant people who have no idea how to run even a classroom much less a school district. School Board members should have some qualifications to run. Also, the only people truly mad in the community are the ones who need their daycares to watch their kids.

School bus driver Pepe Tate says he has worked for the system for nearly 47 years and only received one raise in his career.

Maybe the reporter should have asked him about his fake church scam and driven by and saw his huge house in the highest dollar subdivision in Franklinton. No other poor bus drivers living there.
