Kimmel would be perfect for that chair the two days he sat in a few weeks ago were great.
After Jackie left, Kimmel was the one originally offered the chair, with Adam Carolla being Howard's second choice when Kimmel refused, but he wasn't giving up Loveline/The Man Show for that. Artie was Howard's third choice.

they started calling him "eric the actor" to be PC.
When they re-named the 3 retards: Actor, Conqueror, and Slow Adult, that should have been the red flag when shite was changing and going downhill.
He replaced the Sybian with Cocktober. That's all you need to know

Richard is still hilarious
the 100% hands down best part of the show besides SOME of the non-arse kissing interviews, is anything involving Richard and Sal, the cock fights, the prank calls, richard's dad, any story involving richard drinking, and Sal's insecurity and madness.

his show is so bad you cannot listen for more than 10 minutes. I cancelled a year ago.
I have sirius and will randomly flip over. It's unlistenable. It's sad what he's turned into. He's still the GOAT but each year he carries on with this nonsense is just another huge chip off his legacy.

it's a case of "the bigger they are, the harder they fall"
everything gets away from what made it great, but the stern show really sold out, like hardcore

I like Bengy and the phony phone calls. I can do without the Mikey Cyrus interviews.

There was a female celebrity that Howard HATED and went after her every chance he got. He had on on the show in the past 2-3 years and that was the moment it started. I can't think of who it is but I'm thinking it was a daytime talk show host or someone similar to that.

Artie Lange sums it up:
quote:
Lange said that his biggest gripe about his radio idol is that he’s become what he used to make fun of. Stern thrived and built his empire on the counter culture and attacked the mainstream and is going no-holds-barred approach to radio and take on the FCC. Lange feels Stern’s full 180 is an insult to his longtime fans stating, “All those years, when we were laughing at the rebel, when we were laughing at Hunter S. Thompson, he was our guy, he was the Hunter S. Thompson of radio, all those years, we were the boobs!” adding, “He wanted to be at the table, he didn’t want to set the table on fire.”
“He sat down and said, ‘I’m one of you now.’ He’s being what he made fun of, he’s being phony.”
Lange cites the big change in Stern’s relationship with Marci Turk, an efficiency expert that bonded with Stern over a time-management system called, Getting Things Done. Lange claims she “basically wrote a book Howard liked.” Mentions of Turk aren’t allowed on the air which is stark contrast to the show’s steadfast policy that nothing off radio was off limits for the benefit of a good show. Lange states, “That was Howard’s biggest thing, you pull the curtain back on all the pretentious, pompous, phony bullsh*t. That was Howard, full disclosure, full f*cking transparency.” Now, according to Lange, Turk tells people they can’t even speak with Howard unless they get her permission first. Stating, “These are guys who worked with him for 20 years!” adding that he feels for Stern’s longtime and loyal producer Gary “Baba Booey” Dell’Abate must feel “emasculated” and probably isn’t calling the shots any more.

It was Ellen. She made sure he didn't get on American Idol. Artie has given him tons of shite for interviewing her and acting buddy/buddy. Worst moment in the show's history: LINK

That was it. The Ellen moment is when he jumped the shark, most definitely.

no, marrying Beth Ono/horseteeth and trying to hang with the hollytards in the Hamptons was the end of the show

You will never hear it again on Sirius for sure, but if you youtube or google "Spotlight Billy West" it has some of the best moments ever. Youtube has it, it's almost 10 hours of the best Billy moments, go listen to it, that was golden age stern.
