If he resigns does he lose his medical benefits for he and his family as well as his tenure? I wonder how many years he has left to reach his 30 years

If he’s worked for 20 years in the LP system, he will have insurance for life and the base amount of retirement. Retirement benefits grow from 20-40 years. 20 years you get about 30% of pay in retirement, 30 years you get 75% and 40 you get 100%.

I realize this is your interpretation of it. But what about it was as bad as the act itself?

Hopefully this does not have to go to a federal lawsuit, but the nuclear option should be in the arsenal if LPPS and/or St. Pierre go the stupid route.

And this appears to be where they are going. Hence the strong emotions.

I don't think his pension should be stripped over this. I'd love to know what exactly was going through his head though when he made the fateful decision to move on this. Whatever mistakes he made here, he's not at all a dumb guy and was largely well respected. How do you not foresee the optics of the situation and how this would be an all around terrible idea?

I didn’t mean to imply it was as bad. It was probably a bit hyperbolic on my part.

I just mean, if he was truly contrite and understood his mistake, his apology would’ve been much different and there wouldnt be so many people coming at him with torches and pitchforks.

That being said, I do not agree with the emotional crowd. Just saying they’d be more quiet if he wasn’t so pompous.

People generally are further angered when wrongdoers act like sanctimonious hypocrites instead of owning their mistakes. Playing ignorant about this basic dynamic of humanity doesn’t win you any favors FWIW, and is why you’re getting dunked on in this thread for your shilling.

He should have to pay personally for whatever damage it is determined that he did. Not the parish government, not any other entity, HE should. If that requires taking his pension then too bad. If it doesn’t then sure leave it alone.

Youth Senate Scholarship is $10K.

She is still going to get this. Actually she for sure gets this now.

So, lets take a mans entire pension over a $10K scholarship that the girl is going to get anyways.

He should still lose his job and his accrued vacation/sick.

Yeah I was curious why there wasn't more info said about the scholarship details in any of the interviews. Then I came across this nugget about it being a Senate Scholarship and not a traditional university scholarship like we all assumed.

I actually think more were upset about the religious interrogation rather than pulling of the recommendation.

Just being sanctimonious. Most uber religious people are like this. Judgemental..... The usual shite.

Next time Brian Thomas Jr. scores a touchdown he should rip off his jersey and pads to reveal a “FREE KAYLEE” undershirt. Then of course he’d get an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty and probably get ejected so actually never mind.

Still don't see anyone advocating for this. But even if there are some doing that, I'd rather that over the taxpayers having to pay for his stupidity.

You don't get to pretend this guy didn't do what he did just because it hopefully ends up working out for this girl. Total opposite of accountability.

There's already been more than one mistake, just in this scenario. How many more do you think will come to light from others this dude has done stuff similar to?

Why are you trying so hard to downplay what this guy did?

I thought employer provided benefits (like health insurance) were generally paused if someone took a lengthy leave of absence

Boo hoo the guy said your afterlife may or may not be affected.

700 people got murdered in Israel yesterday and people are upset about a man saying your afterlife might suck. LOL

People with strong faith dont let comments like that make them blink. Just sayin.... They also dont want to ruin peoples lifes over a mistake.
