Ate dinner at the new one in Covington last night. They added some menu items it seems. Overall pretty good.

ETA: if you're comparing Walk-Ons to BWW/Hooters/TP, then Walk-Ons has way better quality of food.

Yall sound like a bunch of uppity chumps in here. If you don't like walk-ons then don't go. No, it's not La Boca or GW Finns, they aren't claiming to be either.

They are a sports bar with tons of TV, good drink selection, and a menu that is good compared to comparable establishments

A lot of frozen food but it’s pretty typical for a sports bar. Most people don’t go to walk ons just for the food. The sliders and healthy chicken options are good though

I've been to two here in metropolitan New Orleans, Poydras and Clearview. As one who normally rejects chain places, each visit has been a sort of compromise or they're open late.

I was surprised by the food, it's better than "average" bar food. No it's not fine dining, nor is it meant to be. But it's certainly better than the "boil-in-bag" type places like Chili's or Applebees, and head and shoulders above Hooters and the abominable BWW.

Their duck and andouille is quite representative, and I often make that my meal. The burgers are big and look to be hand-formed, I've not got one, but my kids get the one with the fried egg on it.

While not 5 star dining this is pretty douchey.

They removed their buffalo oyster poboys from the menu so I'm boycotting them.

Am I cool for boycotting something now?

Went to the original in BR a few weeks ago. Ordered some boudin balls and a shrimp poboy. Boudin balls were mediocre. Shrimp poboy reminded me of something I'd get in the airport in Atlanta. Small popcorn shrimp. Bland bread. None of it was bad, but it wasn't good. I don't have plans to ever go back.
