How is it waitr's fault? They literally walk in an are handed the border by the restaurant.
Incorrect. Drivers are trained to confirm contents of bag at rest..Rest staff is also trained to expect confirmation and comply. If it does not happen it's on the driver.

In honor of this thread, I'm going to pay Waitr to bring me hotdogs.

We use Waitr about 3-4 times a month. I’m amazed at how fast the service is now. I’ve never had the same delivery person more than once, and they run from all races and ages. And so far I’ve had zero problems with my orders.

Without reading this thread, I'll say this: Driving for waitr is apparently just like driving for uber. Possibly literally the same people. Just like uber will show them who is requesting to get picked up from where and brought to where, waitr will show them from where to where and how much food. That influences the tip they'll receive. From what I've read the only deliveries that make sense are large orders or ones that they can chain on their way with others. If drivers don't want to take your order, they just won't and it will sit. Basically from what I understand, don't use waitr unless it's a short common route from the restaurant or you have a fairly expensive order. That or you don't mind waiting for cold food.

Perhaps why you should read. This is not the case at all lol

This is true. Except there are some restaurants that staple the bag making it more difficult to check, and if you do it has the look of someone digging through your food. The restaurant employees take it personal when you check their work and aren’t helpful.

Thats where people skills might come in handy, or a stapler.

If they don't do it, there must be a reason, but I would think Uber drivers would jump in on this. If they drop someone off, they can look to see if there is any orders that need to be delivered, that is on their way to wherever they are going next. And pick up a few extra dollars.

But how does it work. You make an order, go to Waitr and put in your pickup order information and then someone goes pick it up and drops it off? (in other words, restaurants are not involved at all right?). I can't imagine it cost the consumer all that much for the service... I am just guessing, but I would think $6-$7). If they give the driver 20% that's $1.40, so they really make it on tips. I am trying to think this out really, but yeah..when you think about a driver having to go all around to different restaurants (opposed to a pizza place, where they leave pizza place, drop off pizza, go back to pizza place).. It really doesn't sound all that appealing.

Got damn, you’re fricking stupid

You are wrong. WAITR is NOT responsible or supposed to open the food boxes at the restraint. The restrictions is responsible to have it bagged and tagged.

Waitr went DOWN hill pretty quickly. I stopped Waitr after having too many mess ups by the DELIVERY driver. If I do order I make sure to write in the notes section- “Please double check my order and tip is based on correct items” etc. I used to tip very well when checking out but it’s just worth the money if the driver sucks. Waitr makes it too complicated to call and complain and I’ve noticed that the drivers # to contact them isn’t always available. It’s just a really big pain in the arse.

I don’t understand this whole delivery service thing. Why add another opportunity to have your food tainted by another scumbag.

The driver is trained to confirm with the rest, item by item. I have seen many a driver get shown the boxes the server opened and showed its contents at hooters for one, multiple times and every driver I saw there. Had one tell me she had to confirm so she didn't have to come back since that was policy. This was also confirmed by 2 ppl I know who had stints at waitr. If you work there you are doing it wrong.
