Also, they probably have zero leads or suspects, so they don’t have a clue and aren’t anywhere near solving this murder.
This probably is very true and highlights a bigger concern.
In most of the shootings there realistically is very little they probably have to do. They know which group they belong to, they're aware of who has a beef with who, they have a snitch who eventually will rat someone out. And if they don't there's little to no pressure.
But when it comes to non-ghetto crimes they seem totally unaware on how to conduct an investigation or even where to begin.

This is what I have thought from the beginning:

The most likely motive is that they have no respect or care for human life and killed someone because they wanted to. But I doubt that would be an official motive settled on by our magnificent police force.

We wuz Kangz is the motive.

I know most of this board has completely ruled out an angry/jealous ex boyfriend or classmate (or whatnot), but I don't think the PD can do so without continuing to investigate.

It’s showing the stupidity of the police.
We aren’t sure of the motive. The motive was just because they could.

Considering the PD has a history of avoiding witnesses who call them and say they saw the whole thing, I feel comfortable taking the piss out of them.
This comes off as CYA rather than an investigation.

Tell me you mean gang initiation without saying gang initiation.

Can they not just check cell phones in the area?
Yeah, that happens all the time.

any attempt to deflect part of the blame onto this poor girl will not end well for them
I think it's more of diverting attention from it looking like a hate crime..

The marketing major’s death shocked many in the Baton Rouge community
A shooting like this--especially one that results in murder--should shock any human being capable of hearing news or barely literate enough to read short, simple sentences.
Whoever took this girl's life should be dragged by a horse back to the crime scene and hanged in broad daylight.

So they know something and don’t want to say it

Justice would be whoever pulled the trigger (10 times) gets strung up by the cock & balls and when those rot off, their nipples. Then we all get to throw stones at him. Then we burn him alive at the foot of the burial mounds. Then we shovel what's left into the river.

Would that also be justice for the other hundred murders in BR this year that the OT hasn't given a shite about?
Young black man gets killed? That's just North BR being North BR.
Pretty white college girl gets killed? Pin the thread and call your local representatives. Why aren't they publishing multiple stories on this every day?

How about hate crime?
Driving while White?
Refusal to be a victim?

The OT tends to be outraged every time an innocent victim is murdered.
Alot of homicides are live by the sword, die by the sword scenarios in which case everyone shakes their heads at the sad state of affairs.
