Aussie fires are primarily brushland. More land burns in the US every year over the last 10 than has burned there this year.

The US is vastly larger though. Proportionally surely that’s still not the case?

True.

Fires are the hip story of the year it seems.

Some blame it on the dryness, some on the rain. There was more fuel than previous years and most is scrubland, not Forest land.

I was with a former Aussie Senator over Christmas, he stated the environmentalist over there pushed through policies that prevented controlled burning. He said the whole country is full of “brushfire fuel”

Yes

And Eucalyptus trees apparently generate massive amounts of fuel.
