No, he just thinks people with degrees from Louisiana universities can't get a job at Goldman Sachs.
Which is wrong, because it's been done.

point being a college degree can dictate to some extent the array of options you have when you are first entering the workforce, but it absolutely does not control your destiny.

Holy shite there is some melt in this thread!! Damn ULL people are so delusional it’s unreal. Look LSU ain’t Princeton but at least it’s a legitimate university as opposed to USL directional school.

Anything is possible, I worked with this guy for a few years,
LINK
he started as a machinist and got a degree going to night school at Arkansas State, he climbed the ladder to become CEO of GE IT Systems, then CEO off Philips Medical North America, and finally a Senior Operating Executive at Welsh, Carson, Anderson & Stowe (WCAS) in New York, NY, one of the largest private equity firms in the world.

Holy shite quit melting. Elite banking and consulting firms don’t recruit out of state schools. That’s all these guys are saying and they’re 100% right.

A degree from any Lousiana State School confers a zero percent chance at a job like that. That was the crux of his argument. Doesn't matter how hard you work or your past work history.
this, pretty much.

You're so obtuse it hurts
The fact that there's an article about it says it all

LSu ain't Princeton.... it ain't even Missipppi State!! There's no difference between LSWHO and the University of Louisiana other than a football team. And you barely have that anymore!! Lmao!!

My friend goes to UL and we are both majoring in electrical engineering. He is in his fourth semester and he has said that the stuff I am doing in my first semester at LSU is what they just did (in his third semester).
This seems unlikely unless your friend spent his first two semesters failing classes.
Here is semester 1 at LSU in Electrical engineering:
quote:
EE 1810 Introduction to Engineering: Electrical and Computer Engineering (2)
CHEM 1201 General Chemistry I (3)
ENGL 1001 English Composition (3)
MATH 1550 Analytic Geometry and Calculus I (5)
General Education course - Arts/Humanities/Social Sciences (3)
Here's semester 3 at ULL in Electrical engineering
quote:
Course Credits
CMPS 260 Data Structure/Software Development 3
EECE 260 PC Applications Lab 1
EECE 340 Microprocessors 3
MATH 350 Differential Equations 3
EECE 355 Circuits & Signals I 4
PHYS 202 General Physics II 4
Which of those classes are you and your friend having overlap in?

This is just sad. Seriously. What is it about “ULL” that makes you people so delusional. Again, I am not arguing LSU is some elite institution, but just for reference purposes, US News ranks LSU as 133 best National University in the country, while “ULL” is not even ranked because it’s so shitty but they estimate it’s somewhere between 250 and 300. So, you know, there is some difference.

133 is nothing to brag about. UL, despite not getting the same fundin as LSWHO, is not that far behind!!
